Coarsegold Resource Conservation District is releasing a request for Proposals for the Eastern Madera Fire Prevention Assistance Program, Round II. This program aims to improve the safety of homeowners within established Firewise communities as a part of their annual work to maintain their Firewise status in the NFPA program.

The contracted work will consist of chipping brush piles collected by homeowners from within their 100” defensible space. These piles will be products of thinning and brushing of ladder fuels, limbing up healthy trees, removal of standing and downed dead vegetation, and breaking up the canopy to create a shaded fuel break within 100’ of participating homes. Homeowners will deposit this material at the edge of the road for the contractor to chip and remove. There will also be work in selected communities to brush and chip along roadsides to ensure safe egress in the event of fire in the area.
